Well done Dominic. I suspect this is a bit of a hustle on your part if we are expected to think that will remain your PB for long...

I suspect there were faster up the hill than me today, still I'll take the 15 seconds of fame. Razz

Urged on by George at the bottom and scared by Chris appearing on my wheel half way up I had a bit of a go at this. Not great, but a pretty good marker for the start of the year. Goal is Sub 6minutes and 430+ watts.

Wouldn't it be relevant to put an age up there too? And to work out a handicap......where is this leading........? Embarassed

A very poor effort, but with being nearly 3 mins off my best there's plenty of room for improvement. Thankfully my sprinting ability proved better today than climbing.

Somebody has been training AND eating more pies! If you can do this uphill, what can you do on the flat?! Coolers beware.

Very wet & cold yesterday. The extra kilos of water in my boots & clothing didn't help. A lot slower than last year but good to post something to beat.

BTW - Impressive turnout for the clubrun in the pouring rain. I can give a thumbs up to the Gore-Tex cap & Crud Roadracers mudguards after yesterday's thorough testing.

My first real go at Boxhill this year. Wasn't going to make it a full-on effort, but after I turned into a slight headwind on the 2nd zig, I knew the conditions were really ideal for a good time. So I hammered it a bit after that but never really made up for my slow start.

Still, I can't complain. I'm only ~20 seconds and ~20 watts off my best time on the road bike and I felt well within myself the whole way up except for the final 30 seconds when I was desperate to break 7 min!

Target is 6:15 and 300 watts which being 4kg lighter will hopefully get me at some point in the season...

Not much to say about that, really. Miserable weather, wind in completely the wrong direction. As unpleasant as ever, huffed and puffed all the way up, was glad when it was over etc.
