Had it remained dry..... but no, light drizzle just before the start iced up some corners and too dangerous to ride. Second abandon in 19 years a great shame but that is the way it goes - we took it to the wire and cancelled at 8 am.
Some thanks:
Nick Sullivan for being our first man off thanks for volunteering for next year ( )
Deborah Lieu for making the most fab cupcakes and coming out to Richmond to deliver them, Fran and Peter AND the other cake makers who I did not see. The catering was brilliant - we have a magnificent presidential catering department.
Our wonderful timekeepers Peter Delve/Frank Cubis
Adam Page for being the chief Marshal, Dave Wylie and Lindsay Pullen for putting out the signs (again) and ALL THE MARSHALS who rode/struggled/wrestled with car batteries out to help us - very much appreciated.
For all the riders who came out full of vim - for Wouter for returning a polished trophy - for all the first timers and older hands - thank you. Gezza wanted me to mention all those who actually signed on (YES he did) but that would exclude those that didn't and that would be a problem.
Dominic Trevett for the inspired posters - polar bear on a bike for next year please.
Sure I have forgotten some - but thanks - 2013 Second Sunday in Feb - make a note and see you all at the ROAD RACE

Point of Process
For events abandoned with no starters (as in this case) all entry fees are refunded. That means Peter and I will shred your cheques if you paid in that way. Paypal payments should be reversed at some point. No one paid in cash this year.

Was that on Ripley road right before the narrow bridge (heading towards the finish line)? What time did you take that pic, as I can't imagine it was raining hard enough to form that much ice from what I saw at the HQ! _________________ Twittering

| I guess it was formed from being splashed by passing cars. |

Ha, ha!... good thing you didn't recce the course!
As for the posters. I have tried one printer but wasn't happy with the quality. Have ordered from an other, will see what they are like soon. Let you know as soon as I get them. |

Fab.
Mailboxes do large scale printing, not sure if it'll be the quality you're looking for though. _________________ emily.b |
