Need some season closers to keep the motivation up. Watching Olympics for three weeks whilst drinking beer in front of TV isn't helping.

Has anyone done this before and have experience, good or otherwise? I'd be up for giving the standard Route a go (155km)....?

Save your money and aim for the tour of the Surrey hills on 19th. Minimal cost, great route, well run by volunteers, loads of grub, nothing not to like

Couldn't agree more - audaxes far better value than sportives. I've entered this one - although there seem to be quite a few hills in it Shocked

Hi all,

I've just joined the club and would be up for this but have a couple of questions. Firstly how do you get to these events, I am a student and haven't got a car. Liftshare/train? Also what sort of speed are you likely to do for the race?

Thanks

James Audley

Jimmy
Welcome to the club

This one starts at Petersfield - so train is best if you have no car. I may be driving down from Richmond (I'll know nearer the time) - so if you can get there

Speeds are, err, relative. I'm pretty slow, so not looking to make the gold time (27kph) more like silver or bronze (25/22kph) as it's quite hilly. profile and route link below

Lastly - it's not a race - actually just a timed ride, so pretty relaxed.

Sounds brilliant. I am definitely up for this!

I a shame I am coming into the club just as the riding starts to wind down a bit over winter, so want to get as much in as I can.

I've just booked it. Will wear club kit to be easily spotted. Happy to ride with others at any pace.

Actually the Club Run doesn't wind down for the winter, we're 52 weeks a year!
