yeah got up stupid early to see hutch and others last year. Nice course avoiding big anti clockwise decent. Odd length though.

Will did good last year.

Anyone know why they couldnt budge the start to make a hilly-ish 10?

I can't remember where they posted the info, but last year the organisers said they deliberately didn't make it an exact 10 miles because it's never going to be a course where you can do a fast time, so by making it a different distance it avoids people trying to make meaningless time comparisons.

Not sure if I want to enter given that places are decided by ballot, though, I suspect I won't be the only one put off by it.

You'll just have to ride a 20:xx probably be enough...

These were well run events last year with good prizes last year.

I like Wes watched the first one with Hutch racing (wow!) and then raced in the second one

Probably can't do the first one but should do at least 1 of the other ones and should be in much better cycling shape by then.

Yes, after this weekend's Andover 10, you two will be straight into the line-up for The Richmond Park TT'S. Looking forward to it. PM me if either of you want a lift down.Haven't got a roof rack but have an Audi estate so enough room for one more bike and rider.

I did the first event last year. Really good, enjoyed it a lot. Well done to Dynamo for organising it. As it is so close (10 mins) then it is not too bad for an early start! i did wear armwarmers though....!

Chatted recently with Rebecca Slack (the organiser) about it and she said they felt that ballots was only fair as so many people want to do it. I actually think that's a better deal for most people than whatever system most oversubscribed TTs use -- the fastest riders I assume? RP is sort of everyone's training ground, so it's nice for it to be open to everyone and not just the top TTers.

And yes, they wanted it an odd distance so it would have more of a sporting feel rather than a time-chaser type feel.

Note the big prizes this year for the road category... I'm fancying my chances in the women's! Very Happy

Just an update -- word is that the first event June 13 is only 2/3rds full, apparently the ballot system was a bit of a flop.

So entries are still available for anyone who wants to give this a go!

(here's the current start sheet list, scroll down)

The problem for KW TTers is that the first two RP TTs clash with events in the club TT series. I think I'll be entering the last one, though, in the hope that my 21:11 from last Thu gets me in as one of the fastest 20 men.

To add to Marykas post.......I sent an email to Rebecca Slack, the organiser, last night, entirely chancing my arm. I'm off at 6.56 at no. 113. I guess that means there are 7 places left?

I left it late, hoping it would be full, absolving me of any responsibility. And allowing a relaxing evening watching England sorting the Americans out......

Just a reminder that the 2nd and 3rd races in the series are still open for entry. Sunday July 18 and Sunday August 8, see http://www.cyclingtimetrials.co.uk/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=ti4TBmQmZMU%3d for details.

There are road bike categories as well as TT bike, don't be shy! I'm going to enter the July one on TT and the August one on road. And KW ladies please enter the August one as it's an LWCR event (road bikes only)!

Royal Parks waited til after the first RP TT to start the roadworks, and now with 3 weeks to go before the next one, hopefully the new surface will have bedded down enough to make for smooth riding again.

Any questions about the TTs can be directed to Rebecca Slack:

Just Maryka and me down fo the 18th. Surprised not more wheelers down. Apparently entry is being held open for a few days as the field isn't full. Contact the organiser at the above e-mail address.
