Why did you join Kingston Wheelers?I was bullied into it my friends David and Martin, who kept reminding me of the three strike rule in the club runs. I was just approaching my fourth ride and they would not let it go.
What made you start cycling?I used to do BMX as a kid then after a cycling stag do a few of us got into mountain biking and then converted to the dark side.
What bike do you ride? Trek Madone 5.2 in blue and my Specialised S-Works mountain bike.
Give us a brief cycling background: It’s very short, just a few epic stag do’s across Ireland and laps of Richmond Park.
What was your best performance or ride?Sprint stage victory through traffic in Westport – during the 2008 tour de cannard.
What was your worst day on the bike? The climb to Mulls gap in Ireland. Three mates and I decided to race each other to the top and I got stressed changing my tyres over and gave myself a migraine. Or any time it rains or is windy!
Who is your favourite pro or inspiration? Laurent Fignon when I wore a ponytail in the late 80’s.
What is your favourite bike food? Bananas.
Where is your favourite cycling location? The roads around Heathrow. I am a very skilled traffic rider.
Most likely to say: "I can’t drink pints" and "not riding, it's too windy".
Least likely to say: "Let’s take this ride easy".
